He kept staring at the mirror in his room hoping he'd see something. He wasn't sure what he was looking for. Odd, he just knew something had happened to him on the other side of that mirror, but he didn't know what, nor when and how it even all came about. Now he felt like a child, perhaps being home with his mother who he knew didn't really want him there. She was pleasant enough. Encouraging even, but it was as if she'd given up on him a long time ago, and she wouldn't even tell him why. It was tough to start over. Figuring out how to hold a pencil between his fingers. Washing dishes without the plate slipping from his fingers and crashing to the floor. Wondering what all those numbers were for on the TV remote. A part of himself felt like a monster reborn. A lot like Frankenstein. His movements were jerky at first. And he was still lost in most conversations with people. He'd see folks in the neighborhood. They'd be kind enough. Talk of things as if they'd rekindle some memory he had no thoughts of. It was rather discouraging. Kale slept a lot. And that's where he'd seen her first. In his dreams. It was amazing what he'd noticed about her. But as of yet, he hadn't a clue who the dark blond girl was. He just needed to find her. Perhaps she could tell him everything, but would she? If he found her. He stared at the mirror as if he were staring a the TV. He waited for some movement out of the corner of his eye. As if she'd appear. Somehow. He squinted hard, hoping to make it happen. But it never did. All that was for sure...he needed to be somewhere else instead of here.
