Ellie felt she had to be on Evan's side a little, but not totally. While she was waiting for her papers to give her the all clear to go, and her Mom and sis had made a Wal-Mart run, Ellie at least had Evan to herself in her hospital room.

"What if somebody gets killed on the way home?" She couldn't believe she said it, but wasn't there a possibility. A gang was out to get them, weren't they?

"Don't make this CSI," Evan winced. "We'll be fine."

"Are you sure?" Ellie was torn. "We are on the run, aren't we?"

"I dunno." Evan looked as if knew something. "I've been listening to your mom and sounds like they had this big gang round up."

"So does this mean you're going to jail?"

"No."

"Well, isn't that lovely," Ellie hugged herself thinking then, she wasn't alone anymore. There was actually someone here listening to all this other than her. "You're father should be in jail." She told her stomach which really looked pretty flat, but then she was hardly through her first month.

"I have a good mind to call the cops on you," Ellie stared at Evan then while he was staring at her stomach.

"You wouldn't," He smirked.

"What if you aren't the father of this baby?" She honestly didn't like to think that he was. Therefore, it would be so much easier to tell the truth about her little adventure with him.

"But I am."

"I want to know for sure."

"Well, quit sounding like it was immaculate conception," Evan gritted a smile. "Because it wasn't."

They said nothing to each other for the longest time.

"You know, you're only this way because Kate is here. If Kate wasn't here, we'd be just like we were, happy," Evan then said.

"Don't be so sure of that," she frowned.

"I should have never called your mother," Evan told her.

"Well, where would we be now?"

"You wanted to go to Alliance, as I recall." Evan was now crossing his arms. Neither had anything to smile about.

"Well." She didn't know how to explain her dreams to him which evidently were seizures according to the doctor which took her from one world to another. "I still want to go there. I think that's where I belong."

"You have lost it," Evan shook his head. "I don't know what happened, but I swear I don't even know you, anymore."

"Well, maybe I'm all fucked up because you screwed up my life!" She felt her blood pressure rising then. She would have spit blood if she could have, but instead Ellie could feel herself seeping into a dark hole until everything was black.
