How would Ellie ever sleep now after seeing Kale? It was hopeless. She kept staring into the mirror over the dresser. It was dark, but she kept waiting. Hoping Kale might lay there in the bed in the mirror. But it didn't happen.

Ellie was afraid there was no magic left. It was gone. Just a dream perhaps. And this was real. They needed to get to that trailer park in Alliance. But could she really talk Evan into doing this. Making a trip out to no where.

She believed they'd be safe. But would they? Should they be driving his car at all?

Now it didn't have one ding in it. It did before, she remembered. Something had happened. Ellie believed Evan had ended up where she'd been before. Although, she'd never seen him in the other world. Just his car.

She nudged Evan then. "We have to get rid of car." She told him.

"What?" He sighed with sleep. She knew he didn't want to talk about this. Not right now.

"Why didn't I think of it before?"

"Because you should have been asleep. You don't need to have stuff like this on your mind," Evan winced looking up at her.

"No, we should have gotten rid of that car a long time ago." She thought for a moment. "You got rid of the car, before. You did. You, you made it look like an accident. You wanted them to think we'd been in an accident. And you thought the car would burn up, but it never did. It never did, did it, Evan?"

"Hold on, now. Just." He sighed and closed his eyes, leaning on one elbow.

"OK, look, I had this really messed up dream or something from before, and I really think it could get us out of the mess right now if we figure out what to do. We have to go to Alliance."

"That's like twenty or a hundred miles from here going north of Chimney Rock. I think. I'd have to look at the map."

"Chimney Rock?"

"Remember the Oregon trail game? The pioneers had to decide which trail to take once they got to Chimney Rock." He looked at her as if they had something historical to decide.

"Maybe."

"What's in Alliance?" He stared at her.

"Some place to live." Ellie nodded.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm sure. I lived there all right. I just never went out to Chimney Rock, you know." She laid her head back on the pillow.

"Can I sleep on this for a bit."

"I'm keeping the lights on because I think we should leave now instead of later." Ellie hoped no one came banging on their door soon. Least of all, busting the door down. She decided to turn the light off, after all.
