Joel grabbed ramen top noodles. They were cheap. Kale got a bags of beans, brown, black and white along with a bag of rice. There were cans of tuna and chicken too.

"What if none of this stuff taste quite right," Ellie said. She picked up a can of cat food. "We could at least try." She took a can of dog food too.

Joel made a face and walked the other way. She looked at the cans of coffee then. She didn't trust it. What would do? She looked around and noticed a bag of potting soil. How unusual? She couldn't think of a garden being grown anywhere around here.

"Do any of you grow anything?" She asked the two cashiers then. They shook their head, no.

She went back and picked up a packet of carrots and squash seeds, just to see if anything would happen if she did plant something. Two packets for a buck.

"I'll give you two more packets of seeds free if you want. Nobody seems to want seeds," the older cashier said.

"Thanks," Ellie smiled grabbing pepper and pumpkin seeds then.

"What are you gong to do?" Kale looked at her as if she'd lost it.

"Plant something," Ellie smirked.

"Yeah, right, like something would grow here?"

"You never know until you try," she shrugged.
